Royal Easter Show Awards 2011 - Winner

Richard was the winner of the 2011 Royal Easter Show Art Award.   He also won the K.G. Fraser Award for the best picture in the show.   (This is an award that can only be won once in a lifetime).

WAI ART AWARDS 2010

Richard was the winner of the Wai art Awards 2010.   His winning oil painting - The Matriarch III was favourably compared to the great New Zealand Artist Goldie.   Check out this painting in the portrait gallery section.

Richard was the winner of the People's Choice Award 2010.

Peters Doig - Marlborough Art Awards 2010

The Art work Still Life - Apples and Pears II was included for the 2010 exhibition.   This beautifully finished work is still available to buy.   See the Figurative, Still Life Gallery.

Duxton Art Awards 2010

Richard received the runner's up prize and people's choice award for his ink drawing Koro II.   (See the portrait gallery).   The original version of this picture, Koro 1 is still available to buy.

Molly Morpeth Canaday Art Awards 2010

The portrait of Oscar Kightley achieved a Merit Award at the 2010 exhibition.   Professor Henry Symonds (the judge for the event) said the composition was reminiscent of Max Beckmann.

North Shore Art Awards 2009

The pen and ink portrait Koro 1 was selected for the 2009 exhibition and received the People's Choice Award.
